Leadership Lab

4-H Connect Registration:  May 2, 2016 - May 31, 2016
Cost: $200 per Youth.   The cost includes all meals. It DOES NOT include transportation to and from or Lunch on Wednesday and Friday.  BE SURE TO EAT LUNCH BEFORE YOU ARRIVE.
Who Will Attend:   All District 4-H Council officers plus representatives from each county.  All participate in 4-H for the 2016-2017 4-H year may attend. Current officers who are graduating are allowed to attend.

4-H Rookie Award

4-H Rookie Award

Available to any 4-H member who is in their first year of 4-H membership.  Requirements: Select one project, turn in a Recordbook, give a report to 4-H leader on the project, give a demonstration, talk or prepare an exhibit on the project.

Junior Awards

Junior Awards (Grades 3-5)

4-H Honor Roll
Requirements: Select one project,  Turn in a Record book, Give a report to leader on project, give a demonstration, talk or exhibit project, Attend 2/3 of regular club meetings.   Bring parents to 50% of regular club meetings.  Serve on committee or as an elected officer, Help with community service project, Participate in a County Roundup event,  Participate in a county-wide activity.

Intermediate Awards





Intermediate Awards (Grades 6-8)

Silver Star
The Silver Star Award may be awarded to 2 intermediate 4-H members (grades 6-8) who submit a recordbook and an application form.  Candidates are selected based on a personal interview, application and requirements must be met.  For more information contact the office.

4-H All Star Award


Available to intermediate members grades 6-8. for requirements contact the office.

Senior Level Awards (Grades 9-12)

Gold Star

The Gold Star Award is the highest county achievement award and will be awarded only once in a member's 4-H career.   The 4-H member must be in 9th grade as of August 31 of the current 4-H year of the award and must have completed at least 3 years in 4-H, including the current year.
The 4-H member must submit an awards program recordbook in the year he or she is to be considered for the award.  For more requirement information contact the Extension Office.
Candidates are selected based on their application and an interview. 


"I DARE YOU"


The "I Dare You" Award is offered as recognition of excellence in character, well-balanced personal development as well as demonstrated qualities of constructive leadership. To be eligible, the member must be in 9th grade as of August 31, complete three years in 4-H, and submit a completed 4-H record book on the due date.  Candidates will be interviewed. 

4-H Letterman Award

Available to Senior level members grades 9-12.  For requirements contact the Extension office.

Texas 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Project State Contest

The Texas 4-H Wildlife Habitat Education Project (WHEP) is an interactive program that teaches youth about wildlife, habitat, habitat management, and natural resources stewardship. This contest is designed for each age division in 4-H; Junior, Intermediate, and Senior.  The contest is held outdoors in wildlife habitat as described in the Rules and Procedures.
When: June 25-26, 2016
