August Reminders



August 2nd by 11:00 a.m. register for summers Series for August 9th and 10th.  Each Day will count as a 4-H meeting.


August 11th by 3:30 p.m. - Turkey orders due.  Please bring correct change.  Change is not kept in the office.   If paying by check make check payable to Caldwell 4-H Council.


August 15th - Registration on 4-H Connect for 2016-2017 4-H Year will be opened.


August 15th by 4:00 p.m. - State Fair of Texas Entries and payment due.  Be registered on 4-H Connect for 2016-2017 4-H year and have current level quality counts number.  


August 17th by 4:00 p.m. - Major Show Market Lambs & Goats and breeding tag orders are due.


August 29th 6:30 p.m. - 4-H Council meeting Scott Annex Conference room.

Shooting Sports Practice

Shooting Sports will not have practice July 24th and 31st.  Our next practice will be at 5:00 p.m. and business meeting at 6:00 p.m. on August 7th.  There will be a discussion on the Club shoot that will be on August 27th.

Major Show Sheep and Goat Tags for Market and Breeding

If you are planning on showing in the Major Shows (Houston, San Antonio, Austin , Fort Worth etc.) you must order tags by 4:00 p.m. on August 17, 2016.  Please make checks payable to Caldwell 4-H Council.  If paying by cash please bring correct change. Change is not kept in the office.
Market Lambs  - $12.00 per tag
Market Goats - $12.00 per tag
Wether Dams - $12.00 per tag
Wether Does - $12.00 per tag
Registered Sheep - $8.00
Registered Boer Goats - $8.00

Texas 4-H Technology Team

If you are a Texas 4-H Member in grades 9th to 12th and like Technology you should consider applying for the 2016-2017 Texas 4-H Technology Team.
The Texas 4-H Technology Team is a statewide youth-adult partnership team focusing on leadership and education in the area of science, engineering, and technology.  4-H members selected for the Technology Team have a desire to learn more about technology, as well as to teach other youths and adults on the discipline.
Youth applying and being selected for the team are required to be dedicated to the two face-to-face meetings held in the fall and spring, monthly on-line conferences, as well as various committee meetings, workshops, and other opportunities, presented each year.  As a member of the team, youth have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with technology professionals to learn and lead.
Applications are submitted online by the deadline of August 15, 2016.  Applications will be reviewed and applicants notified on status by October 1, 2016.  For the link to the application you may email rlehman@ag.tamu.edu or call the office at 512-398-3122.

Multi-County Officer Training Clarification

If you are going to be a 4-H club officer or council officer this training is for you.   Training will be held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church on July 22nd 10:00 a.m. - 3 p.m.  Lunch will be provided.

Summer Series

State Fair of Texas Entries

If you are planning to exhibit at the State Fair of Texas, entries and fees must be turned in to the extension office by August 15th at 3:30 p.m.   This is for livestock and contests. You may pickup papers at the office.  If paying by cash, please bring correct change.  Change is not kept in the office.  If you are paying by check, please make your check payable to: Caldwell 4-H Council.
