Upcoming 4-H Workshops in Bastrop County

·        A Market Broiler Workshop will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on December 30 at the Bastrop Livestock Show Barn.  Keith Staggs will present the program on housing, getting started with broilers, feeding schedules, culling and pen selection.  Keith has judged broiler shows at the major livestock shows, and is currently director of live operations at Holmes Foods in Gonzales, Texas.  If you plan to attend, PLEASE RSVP by December 28 to the Bastrop County Extension office, (512) 581-7186. This program is open to all 4-H and FFA members.

·         A Beef Project Hoof Trimming is scheduled for January 3 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Bastrop Show Barn.  Matt Leopold, hoof trimmer, will be on hand to trim hooves for $40 per head.  RSVP to the Extension office with how many head you plan to bring by January 2.  This hoof trimming is open to all 4-H and FFA members.
